I've been spending the last coupl of days trying (unsucessuly) to make
release. It's capped out at a variety of places, but the most serious
happened a few hours ago and caused a system crash. Take a look at this:
===> lib/../secure/lib/libcrypt
Bad system call - core dumped
*** Error code 140
Stop.
*** Error code 1
Stop.
*** Error code 1
Stop.
Bad system call (core dumped)
{/usr/src/release} root@mortis: %.
Script done on Tue Oct 28 15:58:33 1997
After that, I couldn't do anything. . . LITERALLY. Andything I tried to
do gave my the bas system call error, dumped core, and did nothing. Any
attempted longs on the other vty's would let me enter a login name, and
then I would get the messages about getty repeating too many times;
waiting 30 seconds. Ctrl-Alt-Del reset me without screwing the filesystem
(whew!), but it also gave me a message right before rebotting about some
procs will not die - ps -alx informed. Is this me or is this the source?
AAAHHH!!!!!!!
