Why do you use mplayer2 (instead of mplayer or mpv)?

And why is this port still in the tree?

* snapshot is from 2013-04-28
* github.com/mplayer2/mplayer2 is no longer updated
* http://git.mplayer2.org does not exist
* mplayer2.org redirects to http://www3.mplayer2.org (no content!)
