I am unable to send any mail to a freebsd email address (mailing lists, majordomo, etc.) from my regular account with Earthlink (spectretouch@earthlink.net). Why? There is no connectivity problem on my end, because I know I can send mail to dozens of other ISP's. The following is the entire error email I receive. (Please send all replies to spectretouch@earthlink.net) Received: from localhost (localhost) by hawk.prod.itd.earthlink.net (8.8.7/8.8.5) with internal id TAA17400; Mon, 6 Jul 1998 19:26:02 -0700 (PDT) Date: Mon, 6 Jul 1998 19:26:02 -0700 (PDT) From: Mail Delivery Subsystem <MAILER-DAEMON> Message-Id: <199807070226.TAA17400@hawk.prod.itd.earthlink.net> To: <spectretouch@earthlink.net> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/report; report-type=delivery-status; boundary="TAA17400.899778362/hawk.prod.itd.earthlink.net" Subject: Returned mail: Service unavailable Auto-Submitted: auto-generated (failure) X-UIDL: e7a45cf546a83b9271ee999ebc2ffe84 The original message was received at Mon, 6 Jul 1998 18:15:52 -0700 (PDT) from 2Cust69.tnt1.scl1.da.uu.net [153.35.211.197] ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- <freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG> ----- Transcript of session follows ----- ... while talking to hub.freebsd.org.: >>> MAIL From:<spectretouch@earthlink.net> SIZE=602 <<< 550 Access denied 554 <freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG>... Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" The instructions on how to install a port <http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/handbook28.html#30> assume that one has _freeBSD_ access to the internet. My FreeBSD machine is not connected, only my NT machine. How can one get the tarred ports using a WinNT system? ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
