No.  That's not correct.  While they are used in dangerously (and
stupidly) dedicated mode, they can be used at any time.  I still have
some mount points on my -current machine that refer to sd1c because
I've been too lazy to update them.

Not quite.  Those aren't really the same.

But if you can mount it as /mnt, then you can usually fix it.  :-)
