Off-topic from the four lists: it's known that following instructions, 
whilst taking the linked approach, can break the OS. Breakage is not 
particularly safe.

The four lists are not the places for a debate.

could have been taken as a reminder that no posting should be made to 
more than 2 mailing lists, and only to 2 when a clear and obvious need
