It appears not. For what it's worth, upgrading from 14.0 to 14.2 and updati=
ng
all packages results in the same behavior with MPD5:

Will again be reverting to 14.0 so I can continue using MPD5, as the PPP da=
emon
included in the base installation does not perform reliably with less than
optimal cellular connections. It always, regardless of various sysctl tweak=
s,
produces a lot of buffer overflows which ultimately require frequent
restarts...

As this appears to affect the communication between cellular modems when us=
ing
MPD5 but not PPP, does that narrow the potential causes? Could this be a
default baud rate issue, as Franco suggested?

Available to do any testing required...
