I was suggested to= deinstall everything and reinstall cups and hplip. i did. I deinstalled every cups po= rt installed. I also deinstalled then hplip and every foomatic-port installed. Then I rei= nstalled print/cups which reels in these cups ports: cups-1.7.1 cups-base-1.7.1 cups-client-1.7.1 cups-filters-1.0.52 cups-image-1.7.1 cups-pstoraster-8.15.4_7 As one can see, cups-filters get installed by default (as well as its depen= dency print/qpdf). After that, I installed hplip via portmaster print/hplip. This reels in print/foomatic-filters as well. With this procedure, I end up as I did with having print/cups-filters. The = printer is rogue. I deleted the print queue, installed a new one with the driver from hplip, = to be precise: hp-officejet_pro_8600-hpijs.ppd.gz The "funny" part is that whenever I change the printer driver, a stuck prin= t job produces a sheet of paper with "?%" at the very end. the document is stuck and can n= ot be printed, I have to cancel it. Even with the patch you provided earlier I can not print PDFs anymore! I ha= ve to deinstall print/cups-filters to make the printer system work again. Please can one revert to cups 1.5.x and get rid of this mess and mayhem? --Sig_/A=.RFjO/s7VBpk6QxanAuQk Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=signature.asc -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.22 (FreeBSD) iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJTSCjpAAoJEOgBcD7A/5N8CcAH/0rri5Y/SRMsSaxxPqelt5aK s4hBLBguLbSc0X0uPcaK/SMsrz8/madh6V6LeCP6190NlpLkZVPMvF7eUQaPTi2Y SyFsVmIrI8VDGlq5RBZ8jp33nm1Z31MpZ0j4orR4SWNf+KbrxUVx4wv651HGF+DX s3bGHQuE9hymUnrO6U1Zhsv5RzTkA36+8kUu3VgNKtOse04YlVRgYFOBH9ErI7vc pgHG/xTKYBVWmQiSQPPEoa71Kt2GkaRjetFVeENWWiCG+AD3Kt3luaWs5nHAE4RT x0O+gp9xI+XLMdvvNJ3rVrbXCs1K8PBSv5L2bmr8+frdTYzLXaqElFeP22UsQfU= =KwGA -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --Sig_/A=.RFjO/s7VBpk6QxanAuQk--
