PS: This distinction is important, in that the call mechanism for FreeBSD and Solaris need not be the same, and thus direct calls to the Solaris call gate mechanism will fail for a FreeBSD binary unless FreeBSD implementes as it's native ABI the IABI (Which is what Solaris implements).
