I read my -stable mail, then did a cvsup and rebuilt world, and then fortunately checked my email again before doing an installworld. At that point the email had come in, so I backed out the changes and sent email to Mike to verify the file version numbers that it applied to. You may feel free to add your feature, but give a *HEADS UP* at least 48 hours in advance. Remember that cvsup's and builds take time, so you probably want to allow at least 4*foo where foo is someone's cvsup/build/install time. foo might appropriately be 10 hours, although recent worldstone tests indicate your mileage may vary. My build machine is a P120 w/96Mb of memory and source on fast SCSI, so it's more like 5 hours for me. And then I got bitten anyway, of course, but.. :) Robert N Watson Carnegie Mellon University http://www.cmu.edu/ SafePort Network Services http://www.safeport.com/ robert@fledge.watson.org http://www.watson.org/~robert/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the messagehome | help
