It hasn't been completely finished updating in -CURRENT. Of course if
someone wants to maintain GDB in src/contrib/gdb they are *very* welcome
to do so. I never desired to become the GDB maintainer.

Several weeks after it is done in -CURRENT.

Huh?? Both -STABLE and -CURRENT are using the latest Binutils release.

And it is not a FreeBSD problem. It is a Binutils problem.

Well *_I_* the Binutils maintain do not consider it a FreeBSD problem.
So it isn't. Have you emailed the Binutils list yet??

Your fact -- the Binutils experts (ie, the maintainers) tell me it isn't.
I am not going to create a Linux-like rouge Binutils version. FreeBSD
runs the official Binutils.

More _PEOPLE_ (this includes you) who deal with the Binutils and GCC
developers. There are hardly any FreeBSD users who contribute to the
development of either of those tools.

The GCC, Binutils, and GDB mailing lists of course.
