Wanting to demo a FreeBSD/alpha machine at the upcoming NLUUG conference I just threw a ATI Mach64 PCI (WinTurbo) card into my Alpine box. The machine is at -current. It seems the Xfree contained on the 3.3 cdrom is not completely happy: (**) FontPath set to "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/local/,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/:unscaled,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/:unscaled,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo/,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/" (--) Mach64: PCI: Mach64 CX rev 1, Aperture @ 0x81000000, Sparse I/O @ 0x02ec *** None of the configured devices were detected.*** As this is my first Xfree attempt on the Alpha I wonder what the aperture etc is supposed to indicate. Looks like it is having troubles probing the card.
