adduser(8) man page in the section concerning format for option -f mentions nonexistent option -p (" This field will be ignored if the -p option is used with a no or none argument.")
Actually it should read ("This field will be ignored if the -w option is used with a no or none argument.) as the -w option deals with password type options.
