Previously, I used a Dell Latitude, with two big honking bays for a battery, CDROM drive, Floppy Disk, and who know what else. 1024x768 screen. Great laptop. Right until I hauled that damn thing all the way to CeBIT in Hannover and back last year. The "big and heavy" exceeded the features and thus, new laptop.
