System: FreeBSD grey.cloud.rain.com 5.1-RELEASE FreeBSD 5.1-RELEASE #0: Thu Jun 5 02:55:42 GMT 2003 root@wv1u.btc.adaptec.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386
Pentium-class E machine running freshly-installed 5.1 and the
compat3 libraries.
>Description:
The compatibility libraries for FreeBSD version 3 is missing the
symbol __stderrp. Executables relying on that symbol fail to
dynamically link when run.
>How-To-Repeat:
Install an old version of a binary ("mawk" is a convenient example for
me):
$ mawk
/usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: /usr/lib/libm.so.2: Undefined symbol "__stderrp"
>Fix:
Unknown.
