http://www.freebsd.org/~wosch/test/mid.html is a search interface for the FreeBSD mailinglists. It support only the mail header keywords 'message-id' (e.g. <19980210222122030.AAA206@mail-ftp.nordicdms.com>) and the and the keyword 'in-reply-to' (the answer(s) to a mail, by message id).
