using the sea0 driver/device and an imprimis94601-15 (aka seagate st41200nv), the machine hangs at boot during device probe. the disk is the only target on the scsi bus. the bus is terminated at both ends. to aid the debug effort, i have editted seagate.c #define DEBUG on line 120 of seagate.c the driver/device works with an archive viper 150 attached to the scsi bus. the disk works with FreeBSD 1.1.5.1 and the adaptec 1542C/CF, aha driver. i have not used DDB before or the rest of the kernel debugging tools, but i am just itching to start ;^). send in the patches! another unrelated (?) problem. if i try to use the lp0 device, no joy ;( kooka: {42} /sbin/ifconfig lp0 inet 10.0.0.1 ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCAIFADDR): Can't assign requested address kooka: {43} netstat -in Name Mtu Network Address Ipkts Ierrs Opkts Oerrs Coll lp0* 1500 <Link> 0 0 0 0 0 lo0 16384 <Link> 0 0 0 0 0 lo0 16384 127 127.0.0.1 0 0 0 0 0 sl0* 522 <Link> 0 0 0 0 0 sl1* 522 <Link> 0 0 0 0 0 tun0* 1500 <Link> 0 0 0 0 0 tun1* 1500 <Link> 0 0 0 0 0 power up details: phoenix 80486 ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A00 dell latitude xp4100d 640K Base Memory 1264K Extended SCSI ROM BIOS for 9C50/950 v8.41 (c) 1993, 1994 FUTURE DOMAIN CORP Scanning Controller 0 ... boot messages WITH imprimis drive: FreeBSD 2.0.5-RELEASE #1: Mon Jun 26 10:22:08 EDT 1995 jmb@kooka.atinc.com:/usr/src/sys/compile/KOOKA CPU: i486 DX4 (486-class CPU) Origin = "GenuineIntel" Id = 0x480 Stepping=0 Features=0x3<FPU,VME> real memory = 12189696 (2976 pages) avail memory = 10932224 (2669 pages) Probing for devices on the ISA bus: sc0 at 0x60-0x6f irq 1 on motherboard sc0: VGA color <16 virtual consoles, flags=0x0> sio0 at 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4 on isa sio0: type 16550A sio1 not found at 0x2f8 sio2 not found at 0x3e8 sio3 not found at 0x2e8 lpt0 at 0x378-0x37f irq 7 on isa lpt0: Interrupt-driven port lp0: TCP/IP capable interface lpt1 not found at 0xffffffff fdc0 at 0x3f0-0x3f7 irq 6 drq 2 on isa fdc0: NEC 765 fd0: 1.44MB 3.5in wdc0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7 irq 14 on isa wdc0: unit 0 (wd0): <ST9655AG> wd0: 500MB (1024128 sectors), 1016 cyls, 16 heads, 63 S/T, 512 B/S sea0 at 0x0 irq 11 maddr 0xde000 msize 16384 on isa sea0: type Future Domain TMC-885/TMC-950 sea0 waiting for scsi devices to settle sea0/0/0 target does not respond sea0/0/0 target does not respond sea0/0/0 target does not respond sea0/0/0 target does not respond sea0 (msgout) timeout waiting for !REQ sea0 send command (6 bytes) 0sea0 (cmdout1) timeout waiting for !REQ -0sea0 (cmdout) timeout waiting for !REQ -0-0-0-0 sea0 (statin) timeout waiting for !REQ sea0/1/0 (STATIN) get 0x2 sea0/1/0 (MSGIN) got 0x0 sea0 send command (6 bytes) 3-0-0-0-20-0 and that's all folks!
