Don't know about lilo.

Sure, type wd(1,a)/kernel at the Boot: prompt after booting the floppy.

Booteasy is pretty simplistic.  If the geometry is wrong then it gets into
trouble.

You might try os-bs, in /tools on the CD or FTP site.
