The conclusion *might have been* that if you were the CIA/NSA etc., "shredding" should be literal. One guy even offered to throw your disks into a volcano in Hawaii for a reasonable charge. IIRC, there were some more "common" responses to this, several of which would at least clue you in, I should think. Personally, "rm" works for me .... Kevin Kinsey
