Yeach! There was a thread several months ago about USB cable modems. There may have been a supported one, I can't remember. Try searching the archives (in questions, not newbie). If I were you, I would try and get a standalone modem. You will be much better off, and you get OS independance. ...Michael... -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-newbies@FreeBSD.ORG [mailto:owner-freebsd-newbies@FreeBSD.ORG]On Behalf Of Adam Hicks Sent: Monday, April 30, 2001 11:23 AM To: freebsd-newbies@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: ATT@Home USB cable modem question Hi, I'm thinking about installing FreeBSD on my computer for the first time but I'm worried that I might have trouble using it for Internet access with my RCA USB cable modem that AT&T set up for me. Are any versions of FreeBSD compatible with this cable modem and if so, can you point me to a good source of info on the Web I can use to set it up. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks!
