To submitter: this sounds strange, especially the bit where you
say that symbols are substuituted in the apache headers.  This
sounds like it could possibly be a hardware problem to me,
especially as it has only recently started happening.  Can you
run (say) Memtest86 overnight on the machine to see if that finds
any issues?  If that finds nothing, can you please show an example
of these corrupted headers, and also the differences seen between
the image on disk and the corrupted image that is served?
Lastly, you could try upgrading to 7.2 and seeing if that resolves
your issue - especlially as 7.0-RELEASE is no longer supported.
