Hello, In order to get some sound of my Toshiba 2595 CDS, I tried to configure ES= S Maestro-1/2/2E driver for FreeBSD 4.1 release. I saw from: http://access.cent.saitama-u.ac.jp/~taku/freebsd/maestro/newpcm/readme.htm= l ... so I did: - Downloaded http://access.cent.saitama-u.ac.jp/~taku/freebsd/maestro/newp= cm/20000906.tar.gz and did a =B4untar=B4, =B4make=B4 and =B4make install=B4 - Added to /boot/loader.conf: maestro_load=3D"YES" - Added =B4device pcm=B4 to my ..conf/CUSTOM - Added =B4options DEVFS=B4 to my ..conf/CUSTOM - Rebuild the CUSTOM kernel: seemed to work out OK (YES!!!) - When I do =B4dmesg | grep pcm=B4 I see: pcm0: <ESS Technology Maestro-2> port...on pci0 - Finally, I do in /dev =B4./MAKEDEV snd0=B4 ...all the above seems OK but when I call xcdplayer in X-windows, I get "D= evice not configured=A8... and I am still without music! Did I overlook something? Did someone get this driver work with FreeBSD? Please help with some ideas!
