Looking at the 4.2 release notes, the ahc driver was updated.  Wonder if the
kernel guys
made changes that made supporting the old bios's impossible.  A reinstall of
4.2 fails to
configure /dev/sa0 though it appears to recognize the 2940 Bios version 1.11
1994.  Would
it be possible for someone to check on this either way.  If it's a driver fix,
fine. If I need
to go hunting for a new SCSI controller, so be it...just can't afford to sit
too long without
backups.
