Hi,
This works on the Thinkpad 600E (2645-4au) as said in the FreeBSD handbook
(09/01 edition) referencing chapter 15 on Sound setup:
1. device pcm
2. device sbc0 at isa? port 0x220 drq 1 flags 0x15
3. Compile your customized kernel
4. After reboot, go to startx (using the KDE window manager)
5. Start the CD player or play a game of Asteriods.
6. Check to see if KWrited is listening on /dev/ttyp0 and spitting
out time out errors (says "/kernel: /sb_dspwr (0xNN) timed out").
Note: Also, KDCD (the CD player in KDE) keeps crashing out with a SIG 11
error. I'm trying to play standard music CDs. This may be a related issue.
Also, when you are first installing FreeBSD you want to go into the boot
command and set device ppc0 to 0x378.
Ken
