Hi.
We've got a cluster of rx2600 that we will use as a linux compute cluster, but
a rather FreeBSD-centric colleague of mine want to test FreeBSD on it. We're
also interested in running a few benchmarks to see if there are any
difference in the performance between Linux and FreeBSD, esp. regarding
network related benchmarks.
The problem is that we're unable to get the thing installed, the machine
resets rather early in the process of loading the installation kernel. We
get as far as this before we get System Alertmessages on the Management
Processor (MP):
Entering /kernel at 0xe000000000512000...

And from here the system restart the boot sequence.
Attached is a full dump of the session along with a dump of the System Log on
the MP (I've tried to peel off the most of the control characters).
The hardware specs are:
2 900MHz Itanium 2 cpus.
2GB Memory
One external Broadcom Gbit ethernet in addition to the onboard Broadcom Gbit
and Intel Etherexpress Pro 100mbs NICs.
We're trying to install from a cdrom.
Any hints is greatly appreciated,
Roy.
