Thanx for the info. However, i couldn't get it working. AS you said I con= figured x using XFree86 (XF86Config), but when I tried starting x-windows, I got a lengthy message, the ending of which is as follows : MOno : Srever for interlaced and banked monchrome adaptors (patchlevel 0)= hgc 1280, signalview, apollo, hercules using syscons driver with X suppor= t (versiob 2.0) (Using VT number 9) XF86 config : /etc/XF86Config (**)stands for supplied, (--) stands for probed/default values (**)XKB: keymap : "xfree86(us)" (overrides other XKB settings) (**)Mouse : type : Intellimouse, device : /dev/mouse, baudrate : 1200 (**)Mouse buttons: 3 (**)VGA16 Graphics device ID : AGP 2D/3D v.
