Since the wpa_supplicant daemon doesn't see a connection event, it retries connecting I had created a patch in PR 113915 which solves this problem: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=113915 Give it a try, if it solves your problem submit a followup to the PR.
