Upon further investigation after submitting the netmap patch, it seems netmap breaks the VirtIO during probing of the devic= es in Q35, even when trying Bryan's sys/dev/netmap/if_vtnetmap.h. Everything works fine, including netmap, for i440FX. I'll see what I can do to get ne= tmap + VirtIO for Q35.
