Greetings all, I'd been going nuts trying to determine why I couldn't link against "libdb-4.4.so" and a few other libraries. The ones in question didn't show up via ldconfig -r although their respective directories _were_ found. (Yes, I even ran "ldconfig -R" for good measure.) ldconfig seems to "skip" libraries not of the form m/.+\.so\.[0-9]+/ i.e., libfoo.so.1 is found, but libbar.so libsnuzzlycat.so.5.5 are not. Bug or feature? Is this what I get for straying from ports/packages? ;-) Eddy -- Everquick Internet - http://www.everquick.net/ A division of Brotsman & Dreger, Inc. - http://www.brotsman.com/ Bandwidth, consulting, e-commerce, hosting, and network building Phone: +1 785 865 5885 Lawrence and [inter]national Phone: +1 316 794 8922 Wichita ________________________________________________________________________ DO NOT send mail to the following addresses: davidc@brics.com -*- jfconmaapaq@intc.net -*- sam@everquick.net Sending mail to spambait addresses is a great way to get blocked.
