Danny, Thank you very much. The authpwd authentication module expects the mail folder to be $HOME/Maildir. As you said, the imap daemon expects subfolders to be named .foldername rather than foldername. Telnetting to port 143 allows me to list my mail folders after I renamed them to .foldername.
