Thank you for your suggestion, Ronald. Yes, "JAVAVM_OPTS=-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true" in /usr/local/etc/javavm_opts.conf seemingly solved the problem. I may need to watch for a while to confirm, though. I'll try openjdk6 without IPV6 support compilation, too.
