	It would be interesting to go back to the people who helped 
develop the very first e-mail systems and ask them what they used at 
the time, and see if we can find any prior references.

	I'll have a chance to talk to Peter Salus next week, at SANE 2002 
in Maastricht, NL (see <http://www.sane.nl/>).  I'll ask him if he 
has any pointers or contacts with people who might be able to provide 
some answers.
