That adds additional complexity. As I said above in the part you snipped, I added a PRELOG_SUB which I used to call 'co -l serno.h', modify serno.h, then call 'ci -mautomated_serno serno.h'. Alternatively, you could make the script alter the ,v file directly and just call 'co' to try to keep the number of useless diffs down.
