I was lacking the magic--magic apparently missing even from the=20=20 Windows=20recovery disk--to make even Windows bootable. This magic *is*=20= =20 present=20on the FreeBSD install disk, as I discovered when I gave up,=20= =20 wiped=20the disk, and freshly installed FreeBSD on the whole thing. I'll install Windows as a virtualbox guest as soon as I get back on=20=20 site=20and download it from Amazon. (Yes, $119 down the toilet.) By the way, for the folks who've been working so hard on the UEFI=20=20 implementation=20of FreeBSD: It's beautiful. It installed and booted=20=20 perfectly=20(and yes, under the circumstances, I was worried). What *would* be nice is some dual-boot documentation. I'm sure that=20=20 what=20I was trying to do is possible. I just didn't succeed. And having=20= =20 to=20muck with the firmware every time to get into FreeBSD is ugly. Thanks! --=20 David=20Benfell <benfell@parts-unknown.org> --=_Cg5gjgNyZyWNp98y44qCoOM Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Description: PGP Digital Signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 iQIcBAABAgAGBQJVwpWfAAoJEBV64x4SNmAr0ngQAKdhkl02lfzfagtB0MxScCV0 hOlFHJBciqQHx+uTIUZXnqom0iZFIsfuPYADtdH0iaRCNaU+ZFXYrZTquRWSJudC xJhQTTDQxK32dIZ7YZjDlPwx6aTq9hJcaKwCY4AGkL/nxXJ43xRXCWHfnoAI8O2X PfSIBACftgZS0TxJ41UtQam/ZqV8+q5CXs1RdkrTk7G1kvw+iePgF/RZ4Av07BXB yVjfPD3XqF7n3BQ1Z7rLqWVyCvoYO6iExU1Eb7mGai8hI8dTORCVyvP1yqTCp8iA xKzvAZOFSyYCSa6PfDHJaW72K9lc6s9gsJ1Lw6sDdlNokPYqFM9irnaLu+L7lY3k +d3ccPmfrx1lyADNaIUVWrRZxkFKkNb9LsLVpZHrdbK3y/hw2yUjaCUT2g1XlI/M Hjr+mTdqTK458dbCpEM9STG9WG/WOqSyzV4BBT9yrKwiGg++BslctgpD3PIJtErN juscuriuQptwpFgp7cHlIoecU92kDzhZ1t2VBPw1RXDUOXK9xSgE8eZu6XTkmuC7 kX2jeAkA5DVp0mh8gXAAaD2hT8YDFBknaboE4DKm9Og0vkgbd6ug4t5H8YBJwk/e JYf2EB8yPqHftE6ybLI/+K9SDcUUymLHEUn/8O9nmY8LAGJHMndNq6LPTHmR+EXf VLCRP9IV7P9wP3Qbx4Um =q350 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=_Cg5gjgNyZyWNp98y44qCoOM--
