It would NOT be appropriate to jump to the conclusion that this issue just
arrived with 12.0.

To be frank, I have just upgraded to 12.0 from 9.1, which I had been running
for many years.

Yes, I should have been keeping up with new releases all this time, but I
didn't.  I am ernestly embarassed about that, but what can I say?  I had a =
lot
of stuff to do.
