https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=292017 Generic Rikka <rikka.goering@outlook.de> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|New |Closed Resolution|--- |Not A Bug --- Comment #8 from Generic Rikka <rikka.goering@outlook.de> --- Thanks — understood. So the current practical situation seems to be: - FreeBSD 15.x won’t have a supported FreeBSD:15:i386 package feed, so pkg32-style host-side installs aren’t a supported path. - A 14.x i386 world in a jail/chroot can keep 32-bit userland available for now, but that’s inherently time-limited by 14.x support/EOL and shouldn’t be treated as a long-term solution. Given that, the sustainable direction for Wine/Proton on 15.x looks like moving toward the newer WoW64-based approach (as discussed in bug #288475), so that 32-bit Windows titles don’t depend on an i386 ports userland on the host. My original report mixed “orientation question” with “support expectations” more than intended — sorry for the confusion/noise. I think this bug can be closed on my side; I’ll follow up in the WoW64/Wine-Proton tracking context instead (and I’m happy to help test or document a reproducible workflow if there’s an appropriate place to do that). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.home | help
