You need this file. Please, make sure you read and understand what is written in the section "Upgrading from 3.x to 4.0" because following the instructions to the letter is very important. If you do this, there is no need to be afraid: people report that this upgrade has been a lot easier than the 2.2.x -> 3.x one. Hope this helps...
