I know that you have already fixed your problem, but for the sake of the
archive one needs to #cp /usr/local/etc/healthd.conf.sample to
/usr/local/etc/healthd.conf and make any appropriate changes.

With problems like this it is always a good idea to do #man healthd and
see what files are involved.
