This is not the correct forum for learning how IP routing works. If the
Mac is the "196.168" address in your routing table, you will need to configure
your FreeBSD box to perform Network Address Translation (NAT) for your Mac.
Please consult a good book on IP routing and NAT to learn how to do this, or
read the appropriate man pages.
Ted Mittelstaedt covers how to configure a NAT router using FreeBSD and
natd in chapter 5 of "The FreeBSD Corporate Networker's Guide", which is
only $30 at fatbrain.com.
