I'd highly recommend the 3Ware cards (www.3ware.com) I've used both the 7500 Parallel ATA series and the 8500 SATA series with FreeBSD, and they perform flawlessly. One of the great things about the 3Ware cards is the management software that's available for them - 3dm. This can be installed straight from ports, /usr/ports/sysutils/3dm. The software can also send you event notification emails, such as if a raid array goes offline, etc. > Here are possible candidates: > > Promise FastTrak S150 TX2+, TX4 Having had several Promise raid cards in the past, I'd say keep away from Promise - the 3Ware cards are in the same price range but are far far superior.
