...this is normal and expected on a DEVFS based system.

...and this is, unfortunately, a genuine bug which was discovered three
days ago (thanks to Eric Scott for reporting it). It's a bug in
FreeBSD-current MFS code, and affects all installations using DEVFS with
MFS on root. Some people are working now to fix it.

When there is a fix, I'll rebuild the floppies available on the Web page,
and you'll have to download them once again.

Sorry for this, but it's the downside of using (still) experimental DEVFS.
I do believe this is the way to go, but it still needs some shaking out...
