I'm running AX 5.0 now for a few weeks on my 3.1-STABLE box at home, and
so far there haven't been any problems at all.

I have a Matrox Mystique 220 card and the performance improvement that
AX 5.0 gives me in comparison to XFree86 3.3.3.1 is very well visible.
