Currently many people use audio/jack_umidi, but now there is also audio/alsa-seq-server . Also there is audio/midipp . A lot of information about USB MIDI on FreeBSD has been gathered here: https://github.com/helloSystem/ISO/issues/261 . For multi-channel USB audio devices I strongly recommend to configure virtual_oss . It allows you to split the audio device into multiple smaller interfaces, which can be used simultaneously.
