Moving the mouse or pressing keys does not wake the display. I can log in from a remote system and things seem normal, however, X is disconnected. as root: xset q No protocol specified No protocol specified No protocol specified No protocol specified xset: unable to open display "192.168.2.3:0.0" dbus and hald are running. Restarting either or both does not effect things. A process that was running before seems to accumulate CPU time - top shows increasing numbers. Xorg seems to not be using CPU time. ====================================== dmesg has lots of error messages like ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\\_SB_.WMID.HWMC] (Node 0xffffff00024e9100), AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT (20101013/psparse-633) ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\\_SB_.WMID.WMAD] (Node 0xffffff00024ecd40), AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT (20101013/psparse-633) ACPI Error: Field [D128] at 1040 exceeds Buffer [NULL] size 160 (bits) (20101013/dsopcode-697) ====================================== var/log/messages has many entries like Nov 9 19:12:07 Envy kernel: ACPI Error: Field [D128] at 1040 exceeds Buffer [NULL] size 160 (bits) (20101013/dsopcode-697) Nov 9 19:12:07 Envy kernel: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.WMID.HWMC] (Node 0xffffff00024e9100), AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT (20101013/psparse-633) Nov 9 19:12:07 Envy kernel: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.WMID.WMAD] (Node 0xffffff00024ecd40), AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT (20101013/psparse-633) Nov 9 19:12:07 Envy kernel: ACPI Error: Field [D128] at 1040 exceeds Buffer [NULL] size 160 (bits) (20101013/dsopcode-697) Nov 10 11:56:34 Envy kernel: acpi_tz0: _CRT value is absurd, ignored (-273.2C) Nov 10 11:58:58 Envy kernel: acpi_tz0: _CRT value is absurd, ignored (-273.2C) >How-To-Repeat: 1 Boot 2 login and startx 3 xset dpms 300 0 0 ## I have tried various combinations 4 wait until the screen blanks 5 move the mouse and/or press keys 6 If the system wakes up, go to 4 After some time, maybe overnight, the system will fail to respond to 5. >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted:
