Installing via ftp: system installs properly and then one package ... [snip] You caught more than I did. Shame on me :) Here are some of the things I found that i don't think you listed (from 3.2-19991217-STABLE)... 1.) The screen doesn't clear around package installs. You see the Post-install configuration menu behind it. Its only distracting, but... 2.) linux_glide still generates an error. This throws the display off by two lines. 3.) When the package install is complete, the configuration menu is not redrawn. Depending on the mess you create with the package install (see #1 and #2), the underlying menu is normally useless. You need to scroll all the way down and back up to get all of the menu items viewable again. The borders and headers can not be redrawn. 4.) The system catches a sig 11, apparently any time the user tries to install a package a second time - this is particularly noticable if you install the Linux emulator from the packages menu, then select it from the Startup menu. 5.) Menus do not redraw after manually configuring the ethernet interface. This is similar to #3. 6.) The X window (top-level) menu doesn't behave similar to the others. If following the "custom Install", Enter gets used a lot. In this menu, exit does not leave the menu. You must scroll to the bottom and select Exit. Although this is cosmetic, its a PITA. -Brian To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-qa" in the body of the message
