Hello there!
May somebody tell me how the freebsd's kernel make detection of
sound cards ?
Almost a year ago I sent a question about initialization of OPTI
sound card because it only works fine when it is initialized
starting MS-DOS drivers and then rebooting the machine.
Now, I modified some of the kernel source files for making the same
initialization that MS-DOS makes, and the correction worked.
I would like to know how can I make these modifications be put in standard
places.
Could anybody tell me how the "config" program gathers all the source
files together for preparing the kernel compilation ? and how they are
linked ?
Is this information documented anywhere ?
Thank you in advance.
