When mount(8) invokes a mount_xxx program, it sets argv[0] to the name of the filesystem (ufs, mfs, nfs etc). Crunched binaries use the argv[0] name to determine which code to execute, so you need to add ln mount_mfs mfs to your crunchgen config file to get this to work.
