When booting all goes well right till then end. The date prints but no
login prompt
appears. I have tried ^C, ^D, return and alt-fing to other consoles but
nothing works.
Sometimes, such as after having reset from a no login prompt
situation you do get a login prompt but cant type anything.
Does this only occur when there is a powered-off Mac on the end of the
serial cable?
What happens when you boot without the serial cable?
Can you try defining the serial line as a terminal in /etc/rc.serial.
Also try adding comcontrol /dev/tty$ci$i dtrwait 0 drainwait 1 to the
terminal()
definition.
