I'll note that for base.yxz (world) various files can not be replaced unless something like: chflags -R noschg /mnt had been done first to allow the replacements. I tend to do a newfs before mounting to /mnt instead. The debug information for the build goes in a directory tree under: /mnt/usr/lib/debug/ (or /usr/lib/debug as seen when later booted).
