I just bought an 801.11g PCI adapter for a friends son (who needed WPA
under Win98se ;-)

Previous experience is with Atheros based cards from Netgear (WG311T)
and Gigabyte (GN-WIAG01, IIRC). (Both work well under FreeBSD, BTW.)

The adapter I selected looked well made and worked pretty well in the
target environment (not FreeBSD, but since it is built round a supported
Atheros chip, I'm quite convinced that it will work). I paid some 12 EUR
(incl. VAT). Guess that's about US$15 ...

The board I bought was the TL-WN651G (with removable antenna), the
TL-WN650G is identical with a non-removable antenna and less than 10%
cheaper.
