There is a workaround:
$ ls -l /usr/obj
total 2
drwxrwxr-x 3 root wheel 512 Dec 4 03:31 aout
lrwxrwxr-x 1 root wheel 1 Dec 4 00:48 elf -> .
drwxrwxr-x 4 root wheel 512 Dec 5 04:14 usr
